A Few Winter Driving Tips

A Few Winter Driving Tips

Winter driving can be very hazardous.  There will be a lot of people on the roads during the holiday season, and along with more traffic, this time of year can bring icy conditions as well.

Here are a few tips to consider when driving through these surroundings:

• Keep tires in good condition and properly inflated
• Slow down
• Keep gas tank at least half full
• Do not use cruise control when driving on any slippery surface
• Drive with your headlights on
• And stock your car with basic winter driving equipment: a scraper and brush, small shovel, jumper cables, tow chain, a bag of sand or cat litter for tire traction, and blankets

Most importantly, be careful!  Look out for other drivers because they may not be looking out for you.

If you have been involved in a motor vehicle accident that was not your fault, whether through circumstances such as bad weather or just plain incompetence of the other driver, it can be a very difficult time.  Along with bodily injuries, there can be unplanned medical bills, lost wages due to time off work, and loss of the use of your vehicle.  If you find yourself in this situation, please do not hesitate to contact me and our experienced staff at Rochelle, McCulloch & Aulds at (615) 443-8788 for a free consultation to see if we can assist you through this process.
