Biography:
Jacob G. Masters is a native of Overton County, Tennessee where he
graduated from Livingston Academy in 2003. He then attended Tennessee
Technological University in Cookeville, Tennessee where he was a member
of the Students for Human Rights, Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity and a
disc jockey at WTTU. Jacob graduated Summa Cum Laude from Tennessee
Tech in 2007 with a Bachelor of Science in Political Science
Jacob then pursued his legal education at the University of Georgia
School of Law in Athens, Georgia. While at UGA, Jacob was a member of
the Sports and Entertainment Law Society, Business Law Society and the
Student Animal Legal Defense Fund. Jacob also earned the great honor of
membership on the Editorial Board and later the Managing Board of the
Georgia Journal of International and Comparative Law. Jacob obtained
highly valuable courtroom experience while participating in UGA Law's
Prosecutorial Clinic by representing the State of Georgia in motion
hearings, bench trials and before the Grand Jury.
Jacob graduated Cum Laude from UGA Law and was in the top 20% of his
class. He was admitted to the Tennessee Bar in 2011.
Jacob’s practice focuses on commercial litigation
and transactions. Additionally, Jacob has a strong interest
in commercial/corporate bankruptcy.
Jacob is married to DeAnna L. Masters, also a native of the Upper
Cumberland, who teaches at the Tennessee School for the Blind. Jacob
remains an avid fan of both University of Georgia and Tennessee Tech
athletics. He has a strong interest in health and fitness which he
obtained while losing over 100 pounds during law school. He
enjoys running and completed his first half marathon at the 2011 Tom
King Classic in Nashville
