Debra L. Dishmon joined the law firm of Rochelle, McCulloch & Aulds, PLLC, as an associate attorney in May, 2016. Debra has extensive experience in juvenile law, family law and appellate practice. Debra also has experience in probate matters, property damage, landlord/tenant issues, small claims, and other areas of civil litigation.

Debra is a graduate of John Overton High School, where she graduated at the age of 16. She graduated highest in her class from the Paralegal Studies program at Volunteer State Community College in 1997. Debra worked as a paralegal at a prominent Nashville law firm while completing her Bachelor of Arts degree at Trevecca Nazarene University in 1998.

Debra graduated from the University of Tennessee College of Law in December, 2000 with her Doctorate of Jurisprudence degree. During law school Debra worked as a research and writing assistant for a local attorney, and was honored to be appointed as a Student Materials Editor for the Tennessee Law Review Editorial Board.

Debra was admitted to practice law in the Tennessee state courts in June, 2001, and was admitted to practice in the 6th Circuit U.S. Federal District Court in 2010. Debra began her practice as a solo practitioner in an office with another attorney, and then opened her own office in 2003. From 2003 – 2012, Debra’s practice focused primarily on custody, divorce and juvenile law. In June, 2012, Debra accepted a position as Assistant General Counsel for the State of Tennessee, Department of Children’s Services, for the counties of Wilson, Trousdale and Rutherford. Debra left the Dept. of Children’s Services in May, 2016 when she accepted the position with Rochelle, McCulloch & Aulds, PLLC. Debra has over 20 years’ experience in the field of law.

Debra is a member of the Tennessee Bar Association and the 15th Judicial District Bar Association. She actively supports several local charitable organizations benefiting women and children. She is currently a Community Board Member for Habitat for Humanity. Outside the office, Debra enjoys spending time with her family; spoiling her grandchildren; cooking at home for family and friends; hiking; reading; crocheting; and gardening.
