Please Have an Attorney Review Your Construction Contract Before Signing

Wilson County has experienced an explosion in new home construction over the past two-to- three years.  Over the same period, I have witnessed an explosion in private individuals having issues with contracts they signed for both the construction of a home and the purchase/sale of real property.  Many times, these folks are completely unaware of the contents of the contract they signed — a contract, incidentally, that is for the largest investment most folks will ever make.  Whether the contract concerns a purchase between individuals, individuals buying spec homes, or individuals contracting for a custom home, please take the time and spare the expense of having an attorney review the contract prior to signing it.  There is not a reputable contractor in Middle Tennessee who would discourage someone from having an attorney review the contract prior to signing.  In many cases, the cost of the review will be on par with or less than the cost of both the home inspection and the appraisal.

If you are in the market for a new home, please contact our Mt. Juliet offices at 615-443-8787 and have us review the contract before you sign it.
