Biography

Jack began his career in law enforcement in 1987 as a correctional officer with the Wilson County Sheriff’s Department.  His primary duties were working in the jail and booking room, and on occasion transporting prisoners to court appearances where he became fascinated as he observed others engaged in the practice of law.  In 1990, he attended the Tennessee Law Enforcement Training Academy and served his community for the following nine years with the Lebanon Police Department. After graduating from Middle Tennessee State University, he attended Nashville School of Law and served one appointed term as a judicial commissioner in Wilson County, Tennessee.

Following the events of September 11, 2001, he began a period of service with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation in Nashville.  Jack left law enforcement in 2003 and completed his final year of law school, working in the Lebanon office of Lannom, Williams & Kane, P.C.  He was admitted to the practice of law in 2004 and began his career as a trial lawyer in a solo law practice in Carthage, Tennessee.  During those seven years, he practiced in the courts of twenty-one different counties of our Great State.  In 2011, he accepted an appointment from Tom P. Thompson, Jr., as an Assistant District Attorney General for the Fifteenth Judicial District.  Over the next 13 years he served in all five counties of the Fifteenth Judicial District until his retirement in 2025.

Jack is a resident of Trousdale County, Tennessee and is the proud husband to Erika, and father of two.  He attends Enon Chapel Missionary Baptist Church and enjoys traveling with his wife, watching his children become much wiser than he is, spoiling his Golden Doodle, watching movies, sports and long days spent fishing.
